Our Mission
Inspire to Do inspires dreams for special needs children in orphanages
by exposing them to real world opportunities.
By sharing our world with the disabled children in orphanages we enable them
to expand their horizons. Reciprocally, we enrich our communities by raising
awareness that these children can be vibrant, contributing members of our
society despite their differences. The Inspire to Do summer camp offers the
children opportunities to participate in and see the world beyond the walls
of their disabilities and physical parameters. Led by a pediatric therapist
and trained counselors, the children are assisted in accessing their communities
to their greatest potential. They learn skills for activities of daily living
at their level of function, such as accessing transportation, managing money,
or learning problem solving skills to participate in their communities in relevant ways.
We share inspiring experiences with the children that expand their perceptions
of what is possible as well as increase their independence in participating as
functional members of society. As a result, they gain confidence, respect, and dignity.
